What we know about you

Very little, and not out of modesty. This site has no forms, no analytics and writes no cookies: the only data passing through is what any server records in order to send you a page.

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Who handles the data

The data controller can be reached at info@agrofood.it. For corrections to the content or notes about a page, write instead to redazione@agrofood.it.

What this site does not do

Worth saying first, because it is the longest part. Agrofood.it uses no cookies of any kind, runs no analytics, hosts no social buttons, loads no advertising, and has no contact, signup or subscription forms. The typefaces are served from this same domain, so your browser never goes asking elsewhere for them. We build no profiles, run no personalised advertising, and never sell or share data with anyone.

You can check this yourself in half a minute: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Application or Storage section, and look under Cookies. It is empty.

What does happen

Server logs. Every time you open a page, the host records the request: IP address, date and time, the address requested, browser and operating system, and the page you arrived from, if any. This is not an editorial choice, it is how the protocol works: without your address the server would not know where to send the reply. The Court of Justice of the European Union has held that an IP address is personal data, which is why this page exists at all.

The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679) in keeping the site running, defending it from abuse and attacks, and diagnosing faults. Logs are kept only as long as those purposes require, are not used to identify anyone, and are not cross-referenced with anything else.

Email. If you write to us, we receive your message and your address, and keep them as long as needed to reply and to have a record of the exchange. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch.

Who else is involved

Vercel Inc. hosts the site and produces the logs described above, acting as a data processor. It is a US company: transfers to the United States take place under the adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission on 10 July 2023 and under standard contractual clauses.

The email provider handles the messages you send us, by the simple fact of delivering them.

Nobody else. There are no analytics, advertising or marketing providers, because there is no analytics, advertising or marketing.

Search Console and Bing Webmaster

We use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, which tell us what people searched for before landing here and whether any page is unreadable to the crawlers. These are not tools installed on the site: they write no cookies, run no code in your browser and collect nothing from visitors. They report, in aggregate, data that Google and Microsoft already gather themselves when someone uses their search engine. What we see are numbers and search terms, never people.

Links to other sites

The pages link out a great deal: European registers, product specifications, producer consortia, farm stay websites. Until you click, no request is made and no data leaves this site. Once you do open one, you are on a site with its own rules, and this policy no longer covers you.

Your rights

You may request access to data concerning you, its rectification or erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability, under Articles 15 to 22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Write to info@agrofood.it. One honest caveat: for server logs we will most likely be unable to link a request to you, precisely because we keep nothing that would identify you.

If you believe the processing breaches the law, you may complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority in your own country, or take the matter to court.

If anything changes

If we ever add analytics, or anything else that collects data, this page will be updated before that tool goes live, and a consent request will appear. Nothing will start behind your back. The date at the top says when this text was last touched.
